SALA HOMENAJE A RODOLFO MORALES

El maestro Rodolfo Morales (1925-2001) artista y filántropo oaxaqueño dedicó su vida y producción artística a apoyar y financiar actividades de rescate de la tradición oaxaqueña a través de su Fundación Cultural. En vida, el maestro realizó actividades que beneficiaron a pueblos enteros, como fueron las restauraciones de inmuebles de gran valor histórico.

Al contemplar las obras de Morales, que describen lugares particulares o recintos sagrados, uno verá cómo la perspectiva lineal da lugar a la perspectiva del artista. Morales invoca la licencia artística para ordenar el campo visual: el cielo se convierte en suelo, la escala es manipulada. En muchas imágenes hay ángeles que vigilan a las figuras de la escena, en otras, las figuras encaran una a otra. Estas y otras imágenes son reflejos de la amplia visión artística de Morales, que es formada en su mente, cuerpo y alma.

La Fundación Cultural Rodolfo Morales A. C., es una institución dedicada al rescate del patrimonio arquitectónico y cultural de los Valles Centrales de Oaxaca, a la restauración de monumentos históricos, la promoción del arte popular, la música y las artes escénicas, así como al fomento de la educación de la niñez y juventud del distrito de Ocotlán, Oaxaca, y la preservación de las tradiciones locales.

HALL IN HONOUR OF RODOLFO MORALES

The Master Rodolfo Morales (1925-2001), artist and philanthropist of Oaxaca dedicated his entire life and artistic production to back and finance activities of preservation of Oaxaca tradition through his Cultural Foundation. During his life, he organized activities in benefit of entire peoples, as in the case of restorations of properties of great historical value.

Admiring Morales’ works, which describe specific places or sacred fences, one may notice how the lineal perspective reflects the artist’s perspective. Morales evokes the artistic liberty to arrange the field of vision, in other words, the sky turns into the ground and the scale is manipulated. In many images, there are angels that keep watch over the figures of the scene, while in others, the figures are face to face. These and other images reflect Morales’ great artistic view, which is shaped in his mind, body and soul.

The Rodolfo Morales Cultural foundation is an institution dedicated to the recovery of the architectural and cultural heritage of the central valleys of Oaxaca, the restoration of historical sights, the promotion of popular art, music and scenic arts, as well as the promotion of childhood and youth education of the Ocotlán district, Oaxaca, and the preservation of local traditions.
